Quality Engineer Staff- Level 4

As a Quality Engineer on Advanced Development Programs, you’ll drive process improvements, manage variation, and influence cross‑functional strategies to reduce defects, scrap, and rework. You’ll collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams, and represent the voice of quality in a fast‑paced, innovative environment. Key Responsibilities Apply quality principles to design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and research & development for make and/or buy products. Perform technical evaluations of product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings, and procedures. Collaborate with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customers on quality issues to ensure standards are met. Engage in product failure investigations, material review board decisions, and corrective/preventive action. Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conduct product quality tests and perform statistical analysis on non‑conforming products or materials. Develop strategies and systems to improve internal and supplier performance and productivity. Evaluate quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Support supplier selection and maintain certification programs. Basic Qualifications Experience in root cause, corrective action, and manufacturing metric analysis. Experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, inspection, or quality auditing. Ability to read and interpret engineering requirements and specifications. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with 3D model‑based environments such as Catia, NX, 3DX, or XVE. GD&T experience. Experience in design for manufacturing and manufacturing assembly/fabrication in a production operations environment. Experience with internal surveillance systems, auditing systems, inspection planning, work instructions, MES, inspection methods, SPC, QC, RCCA tools, metrics development, and analytics. Desired Skills Bachelor’s degree in STEM. Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification. Strong data‑driven communication and influence at all organization levels. Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and presentation skills. Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management System requirements. Ability to work independently and on team. Experience with Green Belt or Black Belt, CQE, or CMQOE certification. Experience with PFD‑PFMEA, DMAIC, Six Sigma tools. AS9145 experience. Full‑scale determinant assembly manufacturing practices. Supplier QA engagement and performance KPI management. FAI per AS9102 experience. PLM lifecycle knowledge. Software QA integration experience. Test and system checkout experience.
