Responsibilities Maintaining cleanliness of resident’s apartment/home Helping residents maintain independence, promoting dignity and physical safety Assisting residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, eating) as instructed Engaging residents in life skills and other enrichment activities Qualifications HHA certificate proving a minimum of 40 hours of education, with 2 hours in classroom time Certified Nurse’s Aid certification through the State of Florida CPR certification Valid driver’s license Auto insurance High school diploma/GED Must be 18 years of age Previous experience working with seniors preferred Ability to communicate effectively with residents, management, and coworkers Superior customer service skills Ability to handle multiple priorities Good judgment, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills Proof of transportation, active driver’s license and auto insurance Perks Discovery at Home employs our caregivers; taxes are taken out for you ahead of time.
