Learn more at Primary Function The Project Manageris responsible forthe full lifecycle management of electrical construction projects within DACON’s substation and power systems portfolio, including active participation in project estimating and bid development. The Project Manager leads cross-functional project teams, manages client relationships, and ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget, while contributing to competitive andaccurateestimates for new high-voltage and power construction opportunities. The position will be based in our Deer Park, Texas officelocatedat 1300 Underwood Rd, Deer Park, TX 77536 and will report to Dacon’s Director of Project Management. Duties & Responsibilities Manage all phases of electrical construction projects — including planning, procurement, execution, and closeout — for substation and medium- to high-voltage power system projects. Develop andmaintaincomprehensive project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts; proactivelyidentifyand resolve schedule and cost deviations. Serve as the primary client contact for day-to-day project communications; build andmaintainstrong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle. Lead project kickoff meetings and recurring project review meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, and client stakeholders. Manage subcontracts, vendor agreements, and material procurement in coordination with the procurement team. Direct and mentor Assistant Project Managers and project support staff assigned to projects. Administer the project change management process including identification, pricing, negotiation, and documentation of change orders. Review and approve project invoices, cost coding, and monthly cost reports; forecast project financial performance through completion. Coordinate with field supervision and engineering to resolve technical issues andmaintainproject quality standards. Ensure full compliance with project safety plans, Dacon’s safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Prepare and present project status reports, schedule updates, and financial summaries for senior management and clients. Prepare and manage complete project estimates for assigned bid opportunities, including labor, material, subcontractor, and equipment costs for substation and medium- to high-voltage electrical construction projects. Lead pre-bid site walks and bid strategy discussions; coordinate subcontractor and vendor solicitations to support competitive andaccurateestimates. Review andvalidateestimate assumptions, exclusions, and clarifications;participatein the bid review and approval process prior to proposal submission. Support the handoff from estimate to execution by clearly communicating cost assumptions,scopeinclusions/exclusions, and risk items to the project delivery team. Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested. Minimum Qualifications / Experience Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree on a year-for-year basis (4 years = Bachelor’s equivalent). Minimum 5 years of project management experience in electrical construction, substation construction, or power systems. Demonstrated experience managing projects from $2M to $20M+ in substation, transmission, or medium- to high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Experience with project estimating for high-voltage or power construction projects preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred. Proficiencyin Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project for schedule development and management. Experience with Procore or similar construction management software preferred. Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite; strong financial acumen with experience managing project cost reports and forecasts. Excellent client-facing communication and negotiation skills. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Valid driver’s licenserequired; regular travel to project sitesrequired. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods during office-based work. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during field visits. Ability to walk on uneven terrain, gravel, and graded surfaces. Ability to navigate active construction environments including stairs, ramps, and temporary walkways. Ability to lift upto 25 pounds occasionally. Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hardhat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, FR clothing, and hearing protection. Ability to travel to project sites asrequired. Environmental Conditions Combination of climate-controlled office work and outdoor construction environments. Exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and rain. Exposure tonoise, dust, and industrial conditions during site visits.
