Job Title: RN Centralized Registry Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience License: IN license (or compact as of 7/1/20) required Certifications: BLS through AHA required Must-Have: - Candidate must have at least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience. - Candidate must have at least 1 year of Med Surg experience at a large hospital with over 450 beds. Description: We are seeking a dedicated RN for a centralized registry float position in the Medical Surgical unit. The position involves providing general medical and surgical nursing care. Candidates will work with a diverse patient population presenting various diagnoses, including chronic illnesses such as COPD, Diabetes, and CHF, as well as managing GI issues and infections. Care may also involve patients with neurological issues and mental health disorders. Nurses will be responsible for assessments, care planning, and inter-professional communication. Utilization of the electronic health record and equipment such as IV pumps, wound vacs, and telemetry monitoring is required. This role includes floating to other medical units as needed. Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6. Candidates must be willing to work 12-hour shifts, including three weekend shifts within four weeks. Candidates should be prepared to engage in a comprehensive orientation and training program.
