Gastroenterology Physician

Assignment Details:
  • Specialty: Gastroenterology

  • Practice Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient
  • Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call
  • EMR: Athena & Meditech
  • Patients Per Day:
  • Credentialing: Approximately 30 days (Temporary privileges available)
Schedule:
  • Monday: Endoscopy Suite
  • Tuesday: Outpatient Clinic
  • Wednesday: Endoscopy Suite
  • Thursday: Half Clinic / Half Endoscopy
  • Friday: Endoscopy Suite
  • Night Call: Every night during the assignment (1:1 call rotation)
  • Hospital rounding on GI consults as needed
Clinical Responsibilities:
  • Outpatient GI consultations
  • Inpatient GI consults and rounding
  • Upper endoscopy (EGD)
  • Colonoscopy
  • Flexible sigmoidoscopy
  • ERCP (Diagnostic & Therapeutic)
  • PEG placement
  • Esophageal dilation/manometry
  • Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
  • Liver biopsy
  • GI procedures including biopsies, polypectomies, and management of GI bleeding
Requirements:
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology
  • Active Virginia Medical License required
  • Hospital privileges required
  • Comfortable with inpatient, outpatient, endoscopy, and call coverage
Support Staff:
  • 2 RNs
  • 1 Medical Assistant
  • 1 NP/PA
  • 1 Office Staff
Travel & Benefits:
  • Travel and malpractice coverage provided.
  • Nearest airport: Tri-Cities Airport (Blountville, TN)
  • Lodging assistance available.
