Devereux Connecticut is proud to offer a short-term residential program for children and adolescents, ages 8 to 21, with intellectual and developmental disabilities who require an additional level of support. The program provides stabilization, assessment and transition planning. Professional staff work with the individuals, families and service partners to help prepare individuals for a successful return to their homes, schools and communities.

Key Responsabilities: 

• Implement the daily operation of the assigned residence and function as shift leader in the absence of the RM.

• Assist in the planning and carry out of ISP/IPP Plans.

• Maintain medication certification and will dispense medication as assigned.

• Ensures all required documentation is completed, which includes, but is not limited to, daily logs, MyAvatar, staff communication logs, data collection, bed checks.

• Responsible for resident clothing and property inventories.

• Complete client/house money ledgers as spending occurs in conjunction with the RM

• Complete wage spreadsheet and banking as pay checks are received in conjunction with the RM.

• Supervise and assist with house meals.

Locatio n: Washington, CT

Salary: Starting at $23.50 hourly (commensurate with education and experience)

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher degree (BS/BA) preferred. High School diploma/GED required
• 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• Have a valid CT Drivers License.
• Be flexible, patient, energetic, and creative.
• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
• Have a strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs.

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and bend, and move throughout the workday
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or assist with up to 70 pounds as needed
• Ability to assist with emergency responses, including evacuations or crisis situations.
