About the Opportunity

Our client is experiencing significant growth across Florida, driven by major infrastructure and design-build project wins. As a result, they are seeking an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer to help expand their transportation capabilities, lead key initiatives, and play a pivotal role in building and growing a traffic engineering team.

Position Overview

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a seasoned traffic engineering professional who wants to make a lasting impact. The successful candidate will help establish and lead a traffic engineering group while supporting major transportation and infrastructure projects throughout Florida.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a traffic engineering practice in Florida.
• Support the delivery of transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Provide technical expertise in traffic engineering, planning, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
• Contribute to business development efforts and support continued company growth.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on large-scale design-build and transportation projects.
• Help build and mentor a high-performing team of traffic engineering professionals.

Project Experience

Projects may include:

• Traffic engineering and transportation planning
• Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
• Electronic tolling systems
• Traffic signal design and operations
• Arterial Traffic Management Systems (ATMS)
• State DOT, FDOT, and county-level transportation projects
• Large infrastructure and design-build projects

Qualifications

• Approximately 20 years of experience preferred; candidates with 12-15 years of relevant experience will also be considered.
• Strong background in traffic engineering, transportation planning, ITS, signals, ATMS, or related disciplines.
• Experience supporting DOT, FDOT, municipal, or county transportation projects is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and interest in building and developing teams.
• Proven ability to manage projects and collaborate with clients and stakeholders.

What You'll Be Doing in the First 90 Days

• Help establish a new traffic engineering team.
• Integrate with existing staff and project teams.
• Support ongoing and upcoming transportation projects throughout Florida.
• Provide leadership and technical direction to help drive project success.

Compensation

• Target base salary of $150,000+ , with flexibility based on experience and qualifications.
