Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and data-oriented Director of FP&A to serve as a strategic finance partner across the organization. This role sits at the intersection of finance, data, and operations and is ideal for someone who enjoys getting deeply involved in data streams, understanding how information is generated across the business, and transforming fragmented inputs into actionable financial insight.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes for a rapidly scaling SaaS-enabled services business
• Partner closely with all departments (Operations, Sales, IT, Product, and Leadership) to understand data generation, data gaps, and business drivers
• Build, maintain, and iterate on financial models leveraging modern tools, including AI-assisted modelling workflows
• Own management and board-level reporting, delivering clear narratives around growth, margin performance, and unit economics
• Work hands-on with business intelligence and analytics tools (e.g., Sigma) to pull together insights from imperfect and disparate data sources
• Identify data gaps and limitations, working with internal teams and third-party providers to improve data quality and reliability over time
• Analyze revenue drivers, cost structures, and operational efficiency as the company scales rapidly
• Translate complex financial and operational data into concise recommendations that influence senior decision-making
• Continuously improve financial processes, systems, and analytical rigor as the business doubles in size

Ideal Candidate Profile

• ~7–12 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or corporate finance within high-growth, data-driven environments
• Strong interest in data flows, data architecture, and understanding how information moves through a business
• Comfortable working with messy, incomplete, or third-party-sourced data and still producing sound financial insight
• Advanced financial modelling skills; experience using modern BI tools (Sigma preferred) and AI-assisted analysis techniques
• Prior experience partnering cross-functionally with non-finance teams in lean organizations
• Background in SaaS, technology-enabled services, or subscription / services-based business models
• Highly analytical, intellectually curious, and willing to “roll up sleeves” in a scaling environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-financial stakeholders

Preferred

• Experience in early- to mid-stage companies scaling rapidly
• Exposure to finance transformation, systems implementation, or data infrastructure improvement
• MBA or advanced degree a plus

• Deep FP&A and financial modelling experience
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and independently in fast-changing environments
