Neurology Clinic Administrative Supervisor

Job Summary The incumbent is responsible for sustaining an environment of intrinsic goodwill for the practice while providing optimum services to patients. This position serves as office supervisor and functions under the direction of the Department Manager, to supervise a large group of employees and provide accountability as delegated for the day-to‑day operations of the designated clinic location(s). Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience and training. Experience in a leadership role in a healthcare environment. Demonstrated ability to work independently with little direction. Proficient in computer system applications required for the position, including electronic mail, spreadsheets, word processing and medical office management functions such as scheduling and template maintenance. Demonstrated decision‑making skills that reflect the ability to supervise a unit of workers. Ability to represent the assigned unit as a subject‑matter expert and resource person for staff. Problem‑solving skills to independently define issues, create viable solutions and exercise delegated authority for prompt and satisfactory resolution. Ability to seek assistance when the limit of delegated authority is reached. Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all coworkers, consistently interacting with patients and other members of the public with patience, courtesy and professionalism in person and by telephone, and responding effectively to individuals who may be angry or upset. Professionalism and service orientation, with the ability to instill this attitude in staff. Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of staff, patients and providers. Organizational skills to prioritize, coordinate and direct multiple concurrent assignments efficiently. Adaptability to changing workload and increased deadlines. Ability to maintain logs and files in alphabetical, chronological or numerical order. Preferred Qualifications Previous supervisory experience. Healthcare experience with knowledge of PSR 2 and PSR 3 clinical roles. Experience in an ambulatory care setting. Proficiency in interviewing applicants and using effective screening techniques. Knowledge of standard hiring protocols. Objective evaluation and constructive feedback of employee performance relative to job description and performance standards. Capability to train, supervise, resolve conflicts and administer disciplinary action up to dismissal. Understanding of human motivation and the ability to encourage employee development. Administrative skills to oversee daily office operations, develop policies and procedures and manage facility, equipment and supply needs. Typing skills for accurate input and production on a computer keyboard. Writing skills with proper English grammar, spelling and punctuation for clear and concise correspondence. Bookkeeping skills to maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, balance the cash box and prepare deposits. Knowledge of industry process‑improvement methods to identify, plan, implement and measure outcomes. There are four clinical sites that serve our patient population.
