Associate Scientist, Post Doc Fellow- Immunology Analytics

Merck seeks a postdoctoral fellow to analyze single-cell and spatial transcriptomics datasets from human tissues to understand immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. The role combines computational biology, immunology, and translational medicine to identify disease mechanisms, biomarkers, and therapeutic targets.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive single-cell transcriptomic atlases from diseased and healthy tissues
- Analyze spatial transcriptomics data to characterize cellular neighborhoods and tissue microenvironments
- Implement computational methods for data integration, annotation, and biological interpretation
- Identify biomarkers and disease mechanisms through multi-omics data integration and analysis
- Lead publication-quality analyses and present findings at scientific conferences
Requirements
- Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, or related field (or expected by spring 2027)
- Strong programming proficiency in R and/or Python
- Hands-on experience with GPU computing, HPC clusters, and AWS cloud environments
- Demonstrated expertise analyzing large-scale genomics and multi-omics datasets
- Publication record in computational biology, genomics, or immunology
- Experience with single-cell analysis workflows (Seurat, Scanpy, scVI, or similar tools)
- Strong scientific communication and collaborative skills
