Warehouse Worker Leader

Serves as working leader with responsibility for leading three or more warehouse personnel engaged in receiving, storing, and shipping stock and supplies. Duties and responsibilities include demonstrating proper work methods, ensuring materials and tools are available, working with associates in performing established procedures, setting the pace for nonsupervisory work, relaying instructions from supervisor, checking working progress for compliance, answering associates' questions, providing information to supervisor on status of work operations, providing input for work performance appraisals, assuring safety and housekeeping rules are followed, establishing and monitoring preventative maintenance and repair programs for vehicles, ensuring daily inspections of fleet equipment are performed, operating a forklift as required, and performing other related duties as assigned.

Physical demands include performing work on hard surfaces and in work areas which require standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions; lifting and carrying supplies and material up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Working conditions include performing work inside warehouse in bin rooms, in open areas, and in receiving shipping areas. The areas may be cold, drafty, damp, or hot. Work is performed in close quarters in warehouse or bin aisles, ramps, or platforms. Is exposed to injury from falling stock, from handling materials, and from mechanical equipment.

Training requirement includes Hazardous Material HazMat training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations. Eighteen months experience performing warehousing related duties such as loading, unloading, receiving, storing, and maintaining reorder stock control records or similar work that provided the knowledge and skills to perform the duties of the position. Substitution of education for experience is allowed.
