PACKAGING OPERATOR

Mebane, NC

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM–7:30 AM, with overtime as needed

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dependable Packaging Operator to perform routine packaging operations while following standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and established quality and safety requirements. The Packaging Operator will assist with staging materials, packaging and labeling products, inspecting finished products, completing documentation, and maintaining a clean production environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform routine packaging tasks according to SOPs, work instructions, and quality and safety guidelines.
• Prepare, stage, and replenish packaging materials needed for production.
• Package and label products accurately according to established procedures.
• Maintain clean packaging work areas and equipment in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
• Perform routine cleaning of work areas and equipment.
• Conduct visual inspections of packaged products to verify quality requirements.
• Identify and escalate quality issues or deviations from specifications.
• Collect product samples for quality verification according to documented procedures.
• Accurately complete packaging documentation, production records, and logs.
• Palletize packaged materials according to established standards and safety requirements.
• Follow all safety, housekeeping, and workplace policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing or production experience, or equivalent experience, required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work overtime as required to meet business needs.
• Must maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to recognize deviations from established specifications and procedures.
• Proficient in English, including the ability to read, write, follow simple diagrams, and interpret charts.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
• Basic computer skills, including experience using PCs and a Windows environment.
