Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Cardiac / Vascular Sonographer (FGP) – Brooklyn. Job Responsibilities Demonstrate knowledge of NYU policies and protocols and incorporate them into duties. Perform all cardiac ultrasound studies, including echocardiograms, treadmill stress echocardiograms, pharmacological stress echocardiograms, echocardiograms with ultrasound enhancing agents, and agitated saline studies. Perform all vascular ultrasound studies, including carotid duplex, upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex studies, abdominal aortic studies, renal artery duplex studies, iliocaval duplex studies, mesenteric duplex studies, plethysmography, and ankle‑brachial index studies. Ensure all studies adhere to NYU protocols as well as IAC and ACR standards. Provide patient comfort, introduce yourself, verify identity, explain procedures, and maintain patient privacy. Create preliminary reports based on scans, document studies per departmental procedures, and enter & maintain all pertinent patient data. Use good judgment to determine if the procedure was sufficient for proper diagnoses. Operate highly technical ultrasound equipment to perform studies. Alert medical staff of abnormalities that require immediate attention. Compare current studies to previous ones to monitor changes. Assist with accreditation compliance, documentation, and submission of studies for accreditation application. Lift, push, or move patients and equipment over 150 pounds, with or without assistive devices. Carry out assignments within realistic time frames. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree in a related field or completion of an accredited program in cardiac and vascular ultrasound. Registered as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) and Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). One cardiac credential and one vascular credential; applicants with only one credential may apply with the requirement to obtain the second credential within one year of hire. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Maintain active registry status. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Required Licenses and Certifications Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer – CT, Registered Vascular Technologist – Certified, Cardiovascular Credentialing Internal – CCI, American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. Salary Range NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $115,334.71 – $127,132.51 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
