Post Anesthesia Care Unit RN

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit is a critical care area where patients are monitored and cared for immediately after undergoing surgery and anesthesia. The inpatient PACU is a 40 bed unit. The patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric patients. Typically, patients from different services including Transplants, Burn, Trauma, and ICU patients come to PACU to be recovered. PACU RN's are responsible for monitoring frequent VS, pain management, assessing surgical site, recovering patients from anesthesia, breathing support, monitoring intake and output, communication with surgical team, ensuring patient comfort and safety, notifying and updating family and transitioning patients to further care as appropriate. The primary goal of the PACU is to ensure that the patients safely recover from the immediate effects of anesthesia and surgery and providing stable and safe transition to post-operative care.

Schedule: Evening Shift, 2x8's and 2x12's. On Call Required

What Registered Nurse RN will need:

• A Degree from an accredited school/college of nursing is required - BSN or ADN
• BLS Provider (accredited by the American Heart Association) required prior to hire
• Illinois Board of Nursing license prior to hire

BSN Pay Range: $34.76 - $59.92 per hour

ADN Pay Range: $32.90- $57.06 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
