We are actively seeking a Surveyor II in our Harrisburg office. As a Surveyor II with HRG , you will complete a wide range of surveying activities that support both field and office operations, ensuring the delivery of complete, accurate, and cost-efficient survey data to internal service groups and external clients. You will also play a key role in maintaining survey equipment, supporting junior staff, and representing HRG professionally in the field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect survey data, measurements, elevations, and locations through field examinations using current survey technology such as robotic total stations, RTK GPS/GNSS, UAVs, laser scanners, cameras, measuring tapes, and survey rods
  • Analyze and perform computations on data collected from the field, including reducing notes, balancing angles, and leveling runs
  • Develop and maintain neat, accurate, and well-organized field notes and records for use in reports and plan preparation
  • Carry, assemble, operate, and care for survey instruments and related equipment
  • Perform physical field work such as driving stakes, cutting brush, and other manual labor as required
  • Work independently on assigned projects while mentoring and providing instruction and direction to Surveyor I staff
  • Ensure survey equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and in good working order
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, service group managers, and external parties to support efficient survey operations
Requirements:
  • High school diploma with a minimum of four (4) years of land surveying experience
  • Associate's Degree and/or Surveyor-In-Training (S.I.T.) certification is helpful but not required
  • Knowledge of survey fundamentals and the ability to perform basic field calculations
  • Experience with robotic total stations and RTK GPS equipment
  • Working knowledge of survey data processing software such as Trimble Business Center or Carlson
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to accuracy and detail in data collection and documentation
  • Ability to work efficiently outdoors in varying weather conditions and diverse terrain
  • Effective utilization of common business platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting tools, project management systems, etc.
  • Flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices as necessary, which may include overnight stays
  • Valid US Driver's License is required
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
