Event Planning Manager

Overview The Event Planning Manager is responsible for building and fostering relationships with clients by providing a superior planning experience while creating and coordinating group, meetings and events. Responsibilities Generate detailed banquet event orders and communicate with Hotel as well as Food and Beverage Department Heads Assist in the development and implementation of effective marketing plans for generating catering revenues Optimize room rental charges and event upsell opportunities Assist with the monthly forecasting and the annual budget process Handle special projects as requested by the Sales Manager, Marketing Manager and Director of Sales Ensure that events progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating with other employees, and ensuring accuracy Greet customers during the event phase and hand off to the Event Operations team for the execution of details Ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with the clients prior to processing the final bill Manage group meeting space for groups and events Identify operational challenges associated with the group and determine how to best work with the property staff and customer to solve these challenges and/or develop alternative solutions Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary Lead formal pre-event and post-event meetings for small to average-sized assigned groups Facilitate Banquet Event Order and Resume Meetings All other duties as assigned by leadership Qualifications A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment. Refined verbal and written communication skills A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel event sales/event planning or comparable experience preferred Must be proficient in general computer knowledge Candidates should be extremely detail oriented, organized and be able to handle a fast paced environment Prefer two years hotel experience or completed Event Management trainee program Preferred candidate has completed PSS or equivalent training #J-18808-Ljbffr Hyatt Hotels Corporation
