Job Overview
We are hiring an experienced CNC Lathe Machine Operator for a local machine shop. This position requires someone confident operating very large industrial lathes and capable of handling both machine operation and setup responsibilities.
The ideal candidate is mechanically skilled, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced machining environment with tight tolerances.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Operate large CNC lathe machines for production
- Perform setups and programming for shop lathes
- Run machines efficiently when not performing setups
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Calculate dimensions, tolerances, and measurements for production
- Use dial calipers, micrometers, and monitoring tools accurately
- Inspect parts to ensure quality and compliance with specifications
- Maintain consistent production and meet output goals
- Follow all safety and shop procedures
- Experience operating CNC lathes, including large-scale machines
- Proficiency in lathe programming and setup
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong math skills with the ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances
- Experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs without assistance
- Comfortable working around large equipment and machinery
- Candidates who are not intimidated by large equipment
