Inside Sales Engineer - Post Glover Resistors
Location: Erlanger, KY (Cincinnati, OH metro)
Base Pay: $84,000–$117,415 annually
Variable Pay: Up to $16,820 annually

A Technical Sales Role for Engineers Who Can Close

This is a desk-based inside sales position, not a pure engineering or applications-support role. We need someone who can read a one-line diagram, understand what the customer is asking for, and work with our Engineering team to shape it into a solution, then build the customer relationship that turns a quote into an order. Expect a high volume of email, phone calls, and a steady flow of quotes and orders moving through different stages at once. Staying organized isn't optional here, it's the job.

What You'll Actually Do

• Respond to RFQs for custom resistor products (grounding resistors, dynamic braking resistors, motor control resistors, harmonic filters) with technically sound, competitively priced proposals
• Read customer electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and application requirements, partnering with Engineering to shape solutions that meet spec and code
• Apply pricing strategy that reflects technical complexity and competitive conditions while protecting margin
• Build genuine, lasting relationships with manufacturer representatives, consulting engineers, OEMs, and distributors, becoming their go-to point of contact
• Manage a high volume of phone and email communication with customers, reps, and internal teams, staying responsive without letting anything slip
• Juggle multiple quotes and orders simultaneously, each at a different stage, keeping track of what's outstanding, what's pending, and what needs follow-up
• Proactively follow up on open quotations rather than waiting for customers to come back to you
• Own the order lifecycle from quotation through delivery, coordinating with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Planning so customers get accurate, proactive status updates
• Monitor competitor capabilities and market trends to inform how you position Post Glover's solutions

Who Thrives in This Role

• You have a BSEE, BSEET, or related technical degree (BSEE strongly preferred). New grads with strong technical coursework or relevant internships are encouraged to apply.
• 2+ years of electrical industry application and sales experience is preferred, but strong technical aptitude and genuine relationship-building instincts matter more than years on paper
• You understand power systems fundamentals: switchgear, transformers, protective relaying, motor control, VFDs, and power distribution, and you can read a relay coordination study without help
• You can hold two things in your head at once: enough technical understanding to speak the customer's language, and the relationship instincts that get the order across the finish line
• You're genuinely energized by talking to customers, not just tolerating it. This role rewards people who build trust and rapport, not just people who can spec a product
• You're highly organized and comfortable managing a busy inbox and a long list of open items without letting things fall through the cracks
• Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, and UL standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; able to learn ERP systems for order management
