Hydraulic Cylinder Technician / Machine Shop Hand

Job Type: Full-Time

Overview: We are looking for a mechanically skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Machine Shop Hand focused on hydraulic cylinder repair and rebuilding. This role involves hands-on work including disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of hydraulic components. Ideal for someone who understands how mechanical systems work and enjoys seeing machines come back to life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Disassemble hydraulic cylinders and related components using proper tools and methods
• Inspect cylinder components (barrels, rods, glands, pistons, seals) for wear, damage, or failure
• Identify and measure parts for repair or replacement using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
• Keep work area clean and organized; follow safety and shop protocols at all times
• 5S Learn as you go from current staff and foreman

Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on repair skills
• Experience working with hydraulic cylinders, fluid power components, or similar mechanical systems is preferred but can be taught
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and repair specifications
• Familiarity with hydraulic tools, torque specs, and sealing technologies
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, use hand tools and power tools, and stand for extended periods
• Familiarity with micrometers and calipers
