The successful candidate will be responsible for all financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash management, and compliance. This role involves overseeing a team, serving as a primary financial partner to the Chief Operating Officer, and ensuring the organization's financial health and sustainability. The VP of Finance will also be the staff liaison to the Board's Finance and Audit Committees, and must be prepared to present financial materials with clarity and confidence. The ideal candidate will have deep technical finance expertise, with a focus on precision, excellence, and a strong commitment to the mission of the organization. They should be a skilled leader of people, with a track record of developing and retaining strong finance teams, and possess the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively. A background in large, complex nonprofit organizations is preferred, or a demonstrated commitment to learning the nuances of nonprofit financial management.
