About the Position

Seeking an experienced Locum Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for ongoing weekend call coverage in Lebanon, PA.

• • • Ongoing locum opportunity
• • • Approximately 3 weekends of coverage per month
• • • Adult patient population, age 18+
• • • EPIC EMR
• • • 163 bed acute care hospital
• • • APP support available
• • • Surgeon available for backup following consultation
• • • Approximately 4 hours of callback per day including rounding
• • • Temporary privileges may be available for urgent needs with a clean file

‍⚕️ Job Responsibilities

• • • Provide 24 hour cardiac surgery call coverage
• • • Perform patient rounding during call coverage
• • • Evaluate & manage cardiac surgery patients
• • • Respond to urgent cardiac surgery consultations
• • • Evaluate patients transferred from the cardiac catheterization lab
• • • Assist with urgent surgical interventions
• • • Support management of patients transitioning from ICU to home
• • • Perform vein harvesting as needed
• • • Collaborate with the cardiac surgery surgeon & APP team
• • • Provide appropriate patient follow up during call coverage
• • • Document clinical care in EPIC

Requirements

• • • Physician Assistant with cardiothoracic / cardiac surgery experience
• • • Active Pennsylvania PA license required
• • • IMLC / LOQ in hand may be considered where applicable
• • • DEA required
• • • Minimum 3 years of experience required
• • • Acute Care certification is not required
• • • EPIC experience preferred
• • • Clean credentialing file preferred for temporary privileges
• • • Must meet facility credentialing & privileging requirements

• • • 24 hour weekend call coverage
• • • Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 7:00 AM
• • • Approximately 3 weekends per month
• • • Current scheduled coverage: October 23 at 5:00 PM through October 26 at 7:00 AM
• • • Additional scheduled coverage: October 30 at 5:00 PM through November 2 at 7:00 AM
• • • Approximately 4 hours of callback per day including rounding
