Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A leading animal health compounding pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Supervisor to oversee pharmacy operations and drive excellence within their compounding team. This full-time, onsite role is based in Bakersfield, CA, and plays a pivotal part in maintaining the highest quality standards while supporting operational growth and staff development.
Key Responsibilities:• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of pharmacists focused on compounding• Establish and monitor productivity and quality benchmarks• Oversee daily compounding workflows and support pharmacy operations• Ensure compliance with USP <795> , <797> , <800> standards and relevant regulations• Maintain detailed training records and ensure adherence to proper compounding techniques• Assist with medication selection and preparation processes• Identify opportunities for process improvements and formulation enhancements• Collaborate closely with pharmacy leadership and interdisciplinary teams• Uphold confidentiality and comply with all company policies and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:• Current California Pharmacist license in good standing• BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution• Minimum 2 years managing pharmacy staff in a lab or compounding setting• 2 to 5 years of hands-on compounding experience• Strong knowledge of USP compounding standards, State Board regulations, and 503A requirements• Excellent leadership, communication, and mentorship capabilities• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Location: Bakersfield, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM–5:15 PM
Position Type: Full-Time, Onsite
This is a contract opportunity with compensation between $160,000 and $185,000 base salary plus bonus, commensurate with experience. Benefits eligibility applies.
