- Document Accessibility Remediation Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a Document Accessibility Remediation Technician to support a high-volume document accessibility remediation project. The role focuses on identifying and correcting accessibility issues in PDFs, Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, and other electronic documents .

The ideal candidate should have strong computer proficiency, excellent attention to detail, experience with PDF editing/remediation tools, and the ability to learn and consistently follow technical procedures and accessibility standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review assigned documents and perform accessibility remediation according to established procedures.

• Use specialized software to identify and correct accessibility issues in PDF documents.

• Modify document accessibility elements including tags, headings, lists, reading order, tables, links, images, and document properties .

• Use automated accessibility-checking tools to identify potential issues and verify completed remediation.

• Perform manual quality checks on remediated documents.

• Organize and manage electronic files according to established naming, storage, and document-control procedures.

• Maintain accurate records of assigned documents, remediation status, completed work, and outstanding issues.

• Process a high volume of documents while maintaining accuracy and productivity.

• Escalate complex accessibility issues that require advanced remediation.

• Collaborate with project supervisors and technical/web teams regarding document remediation and publishing.

• Follow documented workflows and consistently apply accessibility and document-remediation standards.

• Incorporate quality-review feedback into subsequent work.

• Protect confidential or sensitive information contained in documents.

• Perform other technical and project-support activities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of general computer, software application, file management, and office technology experience.

• 2+ years of experience modifying document structure and accessibility elements such as tags, headings, lists, reading order, tables, links, images, and document properties.

• 2+ years of experience using Adobe Acrobat Pro or other PDF editing software .

• 2+ years of experience in document processing, data entry, records management, quality assurance, or other high-volume production-oriented work.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors and inconsistencies.

• Ability to learn new software applications and technical
