Develops and implements strategies to retain a strong workforce and promote the organization as an employer of choice. Provides coaching, counseling, and career development support to team members. Contacts team members who have applied internally to guide them through the internal hiring process or advise them on other career opportunities within the organization. Engages with employees who have submitted their notice or are identified by HR for career advisement. Develops and maintains relationships with current employees to advise them on career opportunities within the organization. Conducts “stay” interviews to strengthen employee retention strategies. Assists employees with career pathing and professional development opportunities. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Driven to achieve and outperform, continuously looking for improvements, and accepts responsibility for actions and results [Required] Exhibits excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to understand customers and anticipate their needs and prioritize customer satisfaction [Required] Ability to identify and assess challenges using critical thinking, data collection methods, analysis, experience, and judgement to identify and implement solutions in a timely manner [Required] Proactive work mentality and strong work ethic with a history of meeting or exceeding goals [Required] Broad Knowledge of Clinical Specialties [Required] Customer service – retention specialists need excellent client or customer service skills to successfully assist and interact with employees [Required] Patience – this role requires a high degree of patience, as retention specialists need to gather information related to employee dissatisfaction and determine how to best resolve the situation [Required] Conflict resolution – retention specialists need to be skilled at conflict resolution and should be able to navigate situations where employees are unhappy with the company [Required] Problem-solving skills – effective problem-solving is central to this position. Retention specialists need to think on their feet to provide solutions to employee issues or employee complaints [Required] Communication skills – retention specialists should also be strong written and verbal communicators, since they tend to speak with employees on the phone or with employees in person.
