Location: Holland, MI
Shift: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM–5:30 PM | Monday–Friday
Pay: $18.00–$20.00/hour (Based on Experience)

Job Summary

Are you a hardworking and detail-oriented individual looking for a hands-on manufacturing opportunity? We're seeking a dependable Grinder/Fabricator Assistant to join our team in Holland, MI. In this role, you'll grind, smooth, and finish welded steel components while assisting welders and fabricators with daily production activities.

The ideal candidate has previous manufacturing or fabrication experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate hand tools while maintaining quality standards in a busy manufacturing environment.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Grinder/Fabricator Assistant, your core responsibilities will include:

• Grinding & Finishing: Grind, smooth, and clean welded steel components to remove sharp edges, weld splatter, and surface imperfections.

• Quality Inspection: Inspect fabricated parts to ensure they meet established specifications and quality standards before moving to the next stage of production.

• Material Handling: Move, stage, and organize materials throughout the production area.

• Fabrication Support: Assist welders and fabricators with daily manufacturing and production activities.

• Blueprint & Work Instructions: Read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and measurements to ensure accuracy.

• Hand Tool Operation: Safely operate hand grinders and other tools needed to complete assigned tasks.

• Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area while following established workplace safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Previous manufacturing, fabrication, grinding, or material handling experience.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.

• Ability to bend, lift, and perform repetitive grinding and material handling tasks.

• Comfortable working in a hot and loud manufacturing environment with significant welding activity.

• Ability to safely operate hand grinders and other manufacturing tools.

Skills

• Grinding & Finishing: Ability to grind, smooth, and clean welded metal components while maintaining quality standards.

• Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and follow blueprints and work instructions.

• Measurement Skills: Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.

• Quality Control: Ability to inspect fabricated parts, identify defects, and ensure finished components meet specifications.

• Hand Tool Operation: Comfortable using hand grinders and other tools safely and effectively.

• Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy and consistency throughout the grinding and finishing process.

• Teamwork: Ability to communicate effectively with welders, fabricators, coworkers, and supervisors.

• Dependability: Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and ability to maintain productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Safety Awareness: Ability to follow established safety procedures while working around welding equipment and fabrication machinery.
