Joining Duke Health Cary offers the opportunity to build something new, grow your career, and support our mission of advancing health across the communities we serve.Clinical Nurse IIJob Location: Duke Cardiology of Cary, 100 Duke Health Cary Pl, Suite 410, Cary, NCJob Summary: We are seeking a CLINICAL NURSE II to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Perform patient intake including: obtaining vital signs, administering survey tools, conducting educational assessments (patients/guardians), assisting patients with ambulation/toileting, reviewing patient medicationsCompleting procedural tasks including: administering vaccinations and medications according to protocols and provider orders, specimen collection and correct labeling, assisting with clinic-performed procedures (including EKGs, 6-minute walks, orthostatic blood pressures), provide patient/family education, bill for nursing procedures.Documentation in electronic health record and NCIR.Once oriented to the role: act as charge nurse on a shift by shift basis including providing unit leadership, ability to triage patient phone calls/EHR messages and document appropriately.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described hereinJob Eligibility Requirements:Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within seven years of their start date. Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required. Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
