QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master's Degree or higher, Doctorate preferred, in educational administration or other applicable discipline.

1. Pennsylvania Department of Education Principal Certification.
2. At least five years experience in public school administration and supervision, preferred.

1. At least five years successful experience as a classroom teacher.
2. Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent or designee may find appropriate or acceptable.

SUPERVISES: Assist in supervision of all personnel assigned to the school.

JOB GOALS: Promote the educational well-being of each student and staff member in the school by creating and maintaining a safe, pleasant, motivational, and productive environment in which to work and learn.


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Instructional Leadership
   1. Support the implementation of building-level instructional programs, assessment practices, and school improvement initiatives.
   2. Assist in maintaining a positive, student-centered learning environment that promotes academic achievement, student growth, and school engagement.
   3. Coordinate and oversee building testing programs, including Keystones, AP, SAT/PSAT, ASVAB, and other assessments.
   4. Support student support processes through participation in IEP meetings and collaboration with instructional and support staff.
2. Staff Supervision and Development
   1. Assist in the supervision and evaluation of professional and support staff in accordance with district procedures and evaluation requirements.
   2. Support staff communication and organizational effectiveness through the coordination of meetings, schedules, and assigned activities.
   3. Collaborate with staff and administration to promote a positive, professional, and supportive school environment.
3. Student Services and School Culture
   1. Oversee student discipline and implement building-level student management procedures in alignment with district policies and expectations.
   2. Monitor and promote student attendance through intervention, communication, and follow-up processes.
   3. Collaborate with staff, students, and families to support student academic, behavioral, social, and emotional success.
   4. Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school culture for students and staff.
   5. Support the implementation of building safety and security procedures and protocols.
4. Operations and Organizational Management
   1. Assist with the coordination and supervision of daily building operations and administrative functions.
   2. Schedule and attend staff meetings, student group meetings, and other assigned activities and events.
   3. Support organizational systems and operational procedures to ensure efficient building management.
   4. Maintain visibility throughout the school building and at school-sponsored activities and events as assigned.
5. Family, Community, and District Relations
   1. Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders.
   2. Communicate effectively with families and staff regarding student attendance, discipline, support services, and school expectations.
   3. Collaborate with district and building administrators to support school goals, initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
   4. Represent the school in meetings, activities, and professional setting as assigned.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

1. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
2. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
3. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

1. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
2. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

1. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
2. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

1. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program.
