About the Role

The Company is in search of a new President and CEO to lead its Destination Marketing Organization. The successful candidate will be an engaging and diplomatic leader, responsible for promoting and managing the region as a year-round destination for leisure travel, conventions, and sporting events. This role involves directing the organization towards its mission, working closely with the Board on policy making and strategy, and serving as the primary spokesperson. The President and CEO will also oversee top department heads in various areas, including convention center, sports commission, finance/administration, convention sales, membership, visitor services, and marketing & travel media. Applicants for the President and CEO position at the company should have a proven track record in a leadership role, with experience in a similar industry or a related field. The role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to inspire and engage both internal and external stakeholders. A background in tourism, hospitality, or a related sector is highly beneficial. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be adept at public and media relations, and have a strong understanding of targeted marketing campaigns. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is typically required, and a Master's degree is a plus. The role demands a leader who is dedicated to enhancing the economy and quality of life in the region, and who can effectively manage a diverse team to achieve the organization's goals.
