The Payer and Health Systems Oncology Precision Medicine Medical Affairs Director (PHSO PM MAD) is a diagnostic, therapeutic and disease expert who develops ongoing professional relationships with healthcare decision makers across reference laboratories, managed markets organizations including laboratory benefit managers, integrated delivery networks, oncology pathway organizations, oncology group purchasing organizations, federal government payers and health systems and state oncology/hematology societies. The PHSO PM MAD provides accurate information across the full oncology product portfolio, precision medicine, clinical science, and quality management in a balanced and credible manner consistent with the regulatory environment and the company’s ethical standards. This role also serves as a resource for the Medical Affairs (MA) management team on strategic planning and provides mentoring for other team members. Responsibilities and Primary Activities Develops ongoing professional relationships with key decision makers in reference laboratories, organized health systems, managed market organizations and oncology pathway organizations to ensure access to medical and scientific information on the full oncology product portfolio and areas of therapeutic interest Develops strategic account plans in partnership with other PHSO MADs, oncology account management, and precision medicine teams and executes medical activities in alignment with agreed plan Serves as the primary resource for market dynamics within the territory to understand decision makers’ evolving information needs to feed into the ongoing value-proposition development process for oncology product and non-product offerings Effectively communicates and coordinates with Regional Medical Scientific Director (RMSD) regarding medical and scientific support needs in key health systems accounts, in conjunction with PHSO MADs Serves as a resource for the PHSO MAD Team Lead, PHSO Executive Director Medical Affairs, and other members of US Medical Affairs on other relevant strategic planning Attends and supports scientific and medical meetings and prepares post-meeting deliverables Required Location: This role covers the US states of MI, IL, IN, WI, MN, ND, SD, NE, IA, KS, MO, OK, AR, LA, TX, NM. Candidates must reside within the territory. Ability for travel up to 50% within the territory. Required Qualifications, Skills, & Experience Minimum MD, PharmD, PhD 3 years of dedicated experience in a field-based MA role working with reference labs, regional and/or national payers, integrated delivery systems, or scientific leaders OR 5 years of clinical experience working within a health system OR the equivalent Experience with organized healthcare system(s) or payer organization(s), including ability to develop peer-to-peer relationships with key decision makers Thorough knowledge of biomarkers/diagnostics used in oncology and how they overlay with clinical medicine, the managed market environment, disease management, and medical research Thorough knowledge of oncology precision medicine/biomarkers/diagnostics and how this overlays with clinical medicine, healthcare delivery system structure and function, and healthcare delivery policy and trends Excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to network, strong personal integrity, collaborative mindset, and a strong customer focus Thorough understanding of ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry Ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment Demonstrable project leadership abilities Position is National in nature and must be located near a large city hub airport Preferred Field-based medical experience working within precision medicine Research experience in an academic or industry setting, co-authorship on manuscripts highly desirable in the areas of immunology, cancer biology, or other related disciplines Formal training in health economics and/or outcomes research #eligibleforERP Required Skills Clinical Oncology Health Care Systems Integrated Delivery System (IDS) Medical Knowledge Oncology Diagnostics Payer Reimbursement Payer Strategy Pharmaceutical Medical Affairs Precision Medicine (PM) Professional Networking Scientific Research Preferred Skills US and Puerto Rico Residents Only: Our company is committed to inclusion, ensuring that candidates can engage in a hiring process that exhibits their true capabilities. The salary range for this role is $210,400.00 - $331,100.00 This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.
