Description Law Firm Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist The Hazzard Law Firm, LLC
Birmingham, Alabama Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist to manage the Firm's day-to-day financial and bookkeeping operations. This is an internal position requiring a high level of accuracy, discretion, accountability, and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have prior bookkeeping or accounting experience and be comfortable taking ownership of the Firm's financial records, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, payroll-related accounting, reporting, and coordination with the Firm's CPA and Managing Attorney. Experience with a law firm or other professional-services business is strongly preferred. Who Will Succeed at The Hazzard Law Firm We are looking for someone who treats the Firm's finances as an area of personal responsibility. The successful candidate will not simply enter transactions. This individual will reconcile the accounts, identify discrepancies, follow up when documentation is missing, maintain accurate records, anticipate recurring deadlines, and ensure that the Managing Attorney has reliable financial information when making business decisions.
