As we rapidly become the world's largest consumer of corporate services in many categories, the Global Corporate Procurement team is seeking a Global Strategic Sourcing Manager, Indirect Procurement to join our team in North America. Global Strategic Sourcing Manager play a pivotal role at Amazon, leading sourcing engagements across a wide range of business units to enable new initiatives to launch and scale rapidly. Global Strategic Sourcing Manager are expert practitioners in creating competitive environments, and have a strong bias for decision-making rooted in data and analytics. They routinely advise senior Amazon leaders on innovative sourcing strategies that create sustainable, long-term partnerships. They are highly effective communicators, able to articulate the value proposition of partnering with procurement.Key job responsibilities:Establishing strong relationships with internal business partners; building a robust understanding of strategic business direction, requirements and priorities across assigned suppliers and/or spend categoriesSupporting execution of sourcing events across all indirect spend categoriesDelivering savings and increased spend under management by driving adoption of a automated self-service sourcing technology applicationSupporting enhancements and the product development roadmap of the self-service sourcing application based upon purchasing history and stakeholder sourcing requirementsManaging the fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities including RFx, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and supplier consolidationWorking with business and finance leaders to identify and drive savings and controllership improvements, focusing on total cost of ownership.Providing guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement strategies; maintaining procurement ethics in accordance with Amazon's global policiesBasic Qualifications:Experience in an indirect procurement function at a multinational corporationExperience managing spend categories that include three or more of the following: IT Software, IT Services, Corporate Services, Marketing, Contingent labor, Facilities and Real estate, Capital Expenditure and Tail Spend (Indirect Categories)Experience with practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, etc.)5+ years of prior experience developing, leading, negotiating and executing sourcing engagementsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalentAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
