The Marketing Operations Business Solution Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and delivering technology solutions that enable omnichannel marketing, customer engagement, and commercial operations across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device organizations. This role serves as a strategic bridge between Marketing, Commercial Operations, Medical Affairs, Compliance, Analytics, and IT, ensuring marketing processes and technology platforms align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

The architect will lead solution design, process transformation, platform optimization, and data integration initiatives that support HCP, patient, caregiver, and consumer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Business & Solution Architecture

• Lead the design of end-to-end marketing operations solutions supporting commercial and patient engagement initiatives.

• Translate business requirements into scalable technology architectures and implementation roadmaps.

• Develop future-state architecture strategies for marketing technology ecosystems.

• Facilitate discovery workshops and business process assessments with stakeholders.

• Establish solution governance, standards, and architectural best practices.

Marketing Operations & Commercial Excellence

• Design and optimize marketing operations processes including:

• Campaign planning and execution

• HCP engagement

• Omnichannel marketing

• Customer segmentation and targeting

• Content management and approval workflows

• Marketing performance measurement

• Lead management and nurture programs

• Drive operational efficiency through workflow automation and process standardization.

• Partner with Commercial Operations and Brand teams to improve customer engagement effectiveness.

Marketing Technology Leadership

• Serve as the functional and technical architect for marketing technology platforms, including:

• Salesforce Marketing Cloud

• Salesforce Data Cloud

• Adobe Experience Platform

• Adobe Campaign

• Veeva CRM

• Veeva Vault PromoMats

• Veeva Engage

• Marketo

• Eloqua

• Customer Data Platforms (CDP)

• Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms

• Define platform integration strategies and capability roadmaps.

• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to the MarTech ecosystem.

Data, Analytics & Customer Insights

• Design data architectures supporting customer engagement and marketing analytics.

• Enable integrated reporting and performance measurement across multiple channels.

• Define data flows between CRM, CDP, MDM, Data Warehouse, Marketing Automation, and Analytics platforms.

• Support personalization, next-best-action, and customer journey orchestration initiatives.

• Partner with analytics teams to establish campaign KPIs and measurement frameworks.

Compliance & Regulatory Alignment

• Ensure marketing solutions meet pharmaceutical industry compliance requirements.

• Partner with Legal, Regulatory, Medical, and Privacy teams to support approved promotional processes.

• Design controls supporting customer consent, data privacy, and communication preferences.

• Support audit readiness and governance requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement & Program Leadership

• Act as a trusted advisor to marketing, commercial operations, and executive stakeholders.

• Lead requirements gathering, architecture reviews, and solution design sessions.

• Collaborate with internal delivery teams, offshore resources, and implementation partners.

• Support project planning, testing, deployment, and post-production optimization.

• Mentor Business Analysts, Solution Consultants, and junior Architects.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Marketing, Life Sciences, or related field.

• 8+ years of experience in life sciences commercial technology, marketing operations, or business solution architecture.

• 5+ years working with enterprise marketing technology platforms.

• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical commercial operations and marketing processes.

• Experience leading complex business transformation and technology implementation programs.

• Demonstrated ability to manage executive stakeholder relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or Master's degree in Business, Technology, Life Sciences, or related discipline.

• Salesforce certifications (Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, Architect).

• Veeva certifications.

• Adobe Experience Cloud certifications.

• TOGAF or enterprise architecture certification.

• Consulting experience supporting pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.
