Job Description Advertising and Promotions at Crown Publishing Group seeks a Junior Designer to join our dynamic team of designers, copywriters, and a project manager. This position requires strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to work on a variety of projects in an intense and fast-paced environment. The Junior Designer will manage simultaneous digital, print, motion, and out of home advertising and promotional projects to support marketing efforts across web, social, and email platforms. This individual will be an active team member who creates and executes customized campaigns across our list. Crown is renowned as the go-to publisher of narrative and idea-driven nonfiction. Reporting to the Senior Director, the ideal candidate will be a creative, collaborative, and enthusiastic designer with interest in working across a variety of book genres in close collaboration with marketing teams. Specific responsibilities include: Day-to-day work will include collaborating closely with Marketers to refine designs, incorporate feedback, and route work to internal departments, maintaining a positive attitude in a highly deadline driven environment Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ask clarifying questions throughout the marketing design process to create effective work Manage projects with the Project Manager through Monday, our project management/design request software, and correspond on project threads as needed Traffic creative: preparing and releasing files to stakeholders, and sending projects to print Attend weekly status, brainstorm, and media planning meetings Remain current on art, design, and publishing trends offering new ideas on aesthetics and working styles into our department’s creative ecosystem to help keep our output relevant and timely Qualifications: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a staff designer in advertising or marketing preferred. Trade publishing marketing design experience is a plus, but not required for success in the role A passion for design and strong typography skills—as demonstrated by your portfolio Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office Products. Working knowledge in Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Premier — and the interest and ability to learn new systems and applications as needed Experience with preparing files for press Proficient time- management and project- management skills : Timely follow-up skills with the marketing teams and other stakeholders, and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a fast-paced, details-focused, and deadline-driven environment is a must Excellent and professional verbal and written communication skills, across email, direct messaging, and in meetings Ability to work independently and collaborate with the team when needed Proficient in creative problem solving and decision making Understanding of social media platforms as a marketing tool Nice to have: animation, video, and 3D skills are a plus Additional Information The salary for this position is $60,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results. This hybrid position has occasional in-office responsibilities, including but not limited to in-office meetings, training, and daily ad hoc administrative projects. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA).
