Respiratory Therapist - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit/NICU

Location: New Jersey

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night 3x12-Hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30) with every other weekend (Fri/Sat) requirements.

Job Description: The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). They will work closely with the healthcare team to manage respiratory therapy interventions and ensure the safety and well-being of critically ill neonates and children.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood gas analyses and initiate/management of ventilation support including BiPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula.
• Respond to codes and participate in in-house transport of patients.
• Administer medications and perform chest physiotherapy as needed.
• Provide care for tracheostomy management and assist with intubation and extubation as required.
• Utilize various respiratory care equipment including Servo I & U and V60 BiPAP.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1.5+ years of respiratory therapy experience, preferably in PICU/NICU settings.
• Current New Jersey License or Compact License required.
• BLS and NBRC certifications are required. Advanced certifications (ACLS/PALS/NRP) can be obtained onsite.
