Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Carpenter to join our team. This role involves working under the direct supervision of a crew leader to learn essential carpentry skills and contribute to the fabrication of precast concrete products. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities

• Set up and oil forms for concrete panels.
• Lay mesh and tie reinforcing bars and steel.
• Set inserts and strike off.
• Strip forms and clean up work areas.
• Consistently improve in skill proficiency through active learning.
• Engage in productive work throughout the day, either by performing carpentry tasks or assisting with other duties as directed by the Crew Leader.
• Attend work regularly and punctually.
• Demonstrate loyalty and mutual respect towards colleagues.
• Participate as a team player and seek ways to enhance work processes.
• Maintain plant safety following the Safety Manual and Safety Coordinator's guidance.
• Construct forms for precast concrete panels using approved piece tickets in compliance with architectural specifications and PCI requirements.
• Meet with the supervisor to discuss production sequences and address potential form construction issues.
• Provide updates on form-related material inventory to ensure timely ordering of supplies.
• Properly maintain tools and use appropriate safety guards.
• Manage personal carpentry workload effectively.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in carpentry, assembly, and use of a tape measure.
• Experience with power tools.

Work Environment
Work primarily takes place in an indoor/outdoor, non-climate controlled concrete facility. The shift runs from 7 AM to 3 PM/5 PM, Monday through Friday.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
