Senior Accountant Join a Growing Steel Fabrication & Manufacturing Organization We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support financial operations within a growing structural steel fabrication company serving commercial construction projects throughout the Midwest. As a Senior Accountant , you’ll work closely with leadership, support project-related accounting activities, and play a key role in maintaining the financial health of a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Why This Senior Accountant Opportunity Stands Out High-visibility role reporting directly to the Controller Exposure to construction, project accounting, cost reporting, and operational finance Opportunity to work closely with Project Managers and operational leaders Collaborative, team-oriented culture Fast-paced environment where your expertise will make an immediate impact Diverse responsibilities spanning accounting, billing, and financial reporting Key Responsibilities for the Senior Accountant General Accounting & Financial Reporting Prepare and post general ledger journal entries Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules Assist with month-end close activities Analyze financial results and maintain accounting accuracy Support payroll-related accounting activities Project & Construction Accounting Review project cost reports and billing activity Support change order tracking and project financial reporting Assist with construction-related accounting documentation Provide support for AIA billing and project accounting processes Accounts Payable & Operational Support Enter vendor invoices into the ERP system Assist with Accounts Payable processing and vendor communications Support day-to-day accounting operations as needed Work closely with multiple departments to ensure accurate financial reporting Qualifications for the Senior Accountant Required 5+ years of accounting experience Strong General Ledger and reconciliation experience Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs Experience supporting month-end close Strong communication and organizational skills Preferred Manufacturing, steel fabrication, or construction industry experience Experience with AIA billing and change orders Familiarity with project accounting and job costing ERP system experience
