Transportation Analyst

As a Transportation Data Analyst you will work directly with clients, project managers, and internal stakeholders to uncover opportunities for cost savings, operational improvements, and transportation network optimization. Key Responsibilities Perform quantitative analysis on complex data sets. Work both independently and under the direction of a Project Manager to pursue clients’ interests. Develop, qualify, and quantify strategic initiatives to progress clients toward transportation maturity using systematic and ad‑hoc tools. Apply industry knowledge and best practices to creatively develop strategies and initiatives that help clients increase efficiency, improve performance, and reduce costs. Provide consultative knowledge, experience, and advice to IA staff and clients in data quality, transportation, logistics, and supply chain, focusing on analytics, cost containment, modeling, and negotiations. Communicate effectively and professionally via presentations (PowerPoint), verbal communication, and written reports to various levels of personnel, from freight payment analyst to CEO. Highlight areas of continuous improvement within freight audit, processing, and data integrity, and contribute to strategic planning initiatives. Act as the primary or secondary resource for customer‑facing meetings. Multi‑task and meet all project deadlines and target dates. Co‑lead sessions, document recommendations, and manage scope. Interact with Sales and assist with content and group demonstrations. Achieve targets for personal productivity as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Information Technology, Informatics, Business Analytics, or a related field. 3–5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, freight audit, carrier analytics, sourcing, or optimization. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience analyzing large data sets. Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex findings to non‑technical audiences. Strong client‑facing consulting skills and experience managing stakeholder expectations. Experience creating executive‑level reports, presentations, and recommendations. Preferred Qualifications Experience with freight audit and payment operations. Knowledge of parcel, LTL, truckload, and transportation cost management. Experience with Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Access, or similar analytics tools. Carrier, shipper, or transportation consulting experience. Experience supporting transportation sourcing events, carrier negotiations, or network optimization initiatives. Senior Transportation Data Analyst (Optional Level) Candidates may be considered for a Senior Transportation Data Analyst title based on experience and demonstrated expertise. 7+ years of transportation analytics, consulting, sourcing, optimization, or freight audit experience. Proven experience leading strategic transportation initiatives and client engagements. Advanced expertise in carrier negotiations, transportation benchmarking, and cost reduction strategies. Strong executive presence with experience presenting to senior leadership and C‑suite stakeholders. Experience mentoring analysts and leading project workstreams. Advanced technical skills in BI and data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, SQL, or similar technologies. Why Intelligent Audit?
