Domestic General Accounting

Oversee the Domestic Accounting Manager and a team managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, and general ledger activity.

Ensure the balance sheet is properly stated and all balance sheet accounts are reconciled.

Perform variation analysis on the P and L.

Oversee cost accounting for product costing, LIFO, R and D tax credit, product development projections, inventory control, and reporting COGS results during month-end close.

Ensure cost accounting practices are followed and all products and inventory are properly costed.

Work with the cost accounting team to develop best practices for costing.

International General Accounting

Oversee the International Accounting Manager and a team managing foreign subsidiary accounting.

Oversee accounting for all foreign subsidiaries, including local GAAP compliance, US GAAP compliance, transactional completeness, proper cut-off, and inventory oversight.

Manage all reporting for foreign entities, including monthly and quarterly financial analysis.

Ensure all vendors and inter-company invoices are processed in a timely manner.

Monitor subsidiary cash positions and past due trade receivables.

Review balance sheets and income statements of foreign entities to ensure accounts are properly reconciled.

Manage corporate documents relating to foreign entities.

Oversee audits occurring at foreign subsidiaries.

Monitor and implement Income, Franchise, and VAT tax changes.

Manage various reporting tasks, including requested reports, industry analyses, audit reporting, tax reporting, and ROI analyses.

Review transfer pricing on an annual basis.

Financial Reporting

Monitor and implement GAAP and IFRS reporting requirements and changes.

Complete contribution margin analysis for foreign subsidiaries.

Complete Cost of Goods Sold and gross margin consolidated bridge reports.

Close the books in a timely manner with a target of 5 business days, ensuring balance sheet accounts are properly stated and P and L variation analysis is completed.

Update subsidiary reporting packages on a monthly basis.

Information Technology

Manage IT requirements for the finance and accounting group, acting as the lead on annual updates and major IT initiatives.

Monitor and assist in maintaining the General Ledger and Standard Chart of Accounts.

Banking and Insurance

Manage banking relationships and online controls of banking software.

Approve wire and ACH payments.

Oversee cash management for the global business, including hedging transactions.

Help manage excess cash investments.

Oversee general insurance renewal and placement of proper coverage to protect financial interests.

Operational and Strategic Support

Assist with due diligence for acquisitions and financing transactions.

Continually develop reporting and system efficiencies to reduce time requirements and increase quality.

Continually develop process improvements, leverage technology for efficiency, streamline processes, and eliminate unnecessary costs.

Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets, products, and customers.

Staff Supervision

Assign and review work, providing guidance as needed.

Recommend salary increases or reclassifications, and approve hires, promotions, terminations, or discipline within span of authority.

Interview prospective associates and assist with training new team members in corporate accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
