Special Education Teacher | $55/Hour | Full School Year Contract | Arlington Heights, IL

Position Details

• Position: Special Education Teacher
• Pay: $55/hour
• Location: Arlington Heights, IL
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–3:30 PM
• Hours: 32.5 hours per week (30-minute unpaid, duty-free lunch)
• Contract: Full 2026–2027 school year
• No evenings, weekends, or holidays

What You'll Do

• Deliver individualized instruction to students with a variety of special needs, including autism spectrum disorders, cognitive and multiple disabilities, behavioral disorders, physical and health impairments, and communication disorders.
• Develop and implement IEP goals and differentiated lesson plans.
• Use multisensory instructional strategies in a structured classroom environment.
• Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary team members to support student growth.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with Illinois and district requirements.

Qualifications

• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate Special Education endorsement (or eligibility).
• Experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
