Position Overview We are seeking a seasoned Technical Lead with 12-15 years of mainframe development experience to lead development teams and ensure technical excellence across our mainframe applications. Primary Responsibilities
• Lead analysis, design, and development of critical mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, IMS DB, and DB2.
• Manage and mentor a team of mainframe developers, providing direction and fostering skill development.
• Define and enforce architectural standards; participate in and lead design sessions for complex solutions.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices; conduct regular code reviews.
• Design scalable technical solutions to complex business problems.
• Monitor and optimize application performance; implement tuning strategies.
• Coordinate with offshore development teams to align priorities and deliverables.
• Work closely with QA to define testing strategies and support automation initiatives.
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and assess feasibility.
• Present technical designs and project status to senior management. Required Skills and Experience:
• 12-15 years of experience in mainframe development and leadership roles.
• Strong expertise in IBM mainframes and core technologies: COBOL, JCL, IMS DB, and DB2.
• Experience with tools such as Xpediter, Abend-AID, File Manager, ADCP, and GitHub.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management experience; familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders.
• Hands-on development experience required; profiles limited to production-support-only will not be considered.
