Laboratory Technologist Medical Technology

Schedule: Nights. Must rotate weekends.

Assignment Details:

• Contract Weeks: 13
• Guaranteed Hours: Contract

Requirements:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Medical Technology or related area of specialty.
• Certification/registration or certification/registry eligible as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory tests in various areas including hematology, immunohematology, immunology, bacteriology, microscopy, and routine chemistry, following established protocols.
• Conduct phlebotomies and process specimens using technical knowledge.
• Calibrate, standardize, and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring quality control and proper functioning.
• Validate and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist in developing laboratory policy and procedural manuals and orient new employees and students.
• Adhere to safety practices and promote effective working relationships within the team.

Compliance / Notes:

• Must comply with safety policies, including exposure control plans and infection control measures.
• Requires reliable attendance and punctuality, including extending scheduled shifts as necessary to meet patient demands.
