About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer to join its leadership team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the Foundation has the necessary resources, relationships, and visibility to fulfill its strategic objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for resource generation, including fundraising for both program work and unrestricted operations, and will provide senior oversight of the Foundation's external-facing functions. This includes philanthropic services, planned giving, marketing, communications, and community leadership. The Chief Advancement Officer will also be a visible ambassador for the Foundation, engaging with the community, and will be expected to lead, mentor, and develop the teams responsible for these functions. Candidates for the Chief Advancement Officer position should be strategic, entrepreneurial, and relationship-driven leaders with a strong background in advancement, development, fundraising, or philanthropy. Experience in planned giving and charitable gift planning is essential, as is a proven track record in resource generation and donor stewardship. The ideal candidate will have executive maturity, be an exceptional communicator, and be comfortable as the external face of the organization. A collaborative leadership style, a commitment to excellence, and a genuine passion for philanthropy and community impact are also key characteristics. The role requires a leader who can work closely with the President & CEO and the Chief Financial and Operating Officer, and who is prepared to respond to the organization's and community's needs during critical situations.
