Optometrist Needed in Browning, MT | $170/hr

Job Description

WANDER STAFFING is seeking to add one (1) Optometrist to our Team ASAP. This position is located at the Blackfeet Service Unit in Browning, Montana.

Where : Blackfeet Service Unit, 760 Hospital Circle, Browning, Montana 59417

Pay:

• $170/hour
• 1099 all-inclusive
• On-site housing is available

Tentative start date : ASAP, Dependent on Security and Credentialing

Duration of contract :

• Twelve (12) months with options to extend
• Note: The duration of the contract is between the government and us. Like any other job, if life means you must leave, you give us a 60-day notice.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited institution.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice optometry in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical experience preferred.

Schedule :

• Monday – Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm
• There will be no OT, Weekend or Holiday

Duties:

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations and refractions.
• Diagnose and manage ocular diseases, visual disorders, and injuries.
• Prescribe corrective lenses and therapeutic medications as permitted by licensure.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as visual fields, fundus photography, and OCT.
• Coordinate with other medical providers for referrals, co-management, and follow-up care.
• Support BFSU quality improvement and public health vision programs as needed.

The picturesque hospital sits in the shadows of the "Backbone of Mother Earth", or what is more commonly known as the "Shining" Mountains of the rugged Northern Rockies. Outdoor activities abound within a short driving distance, including world class fishing, hiking, camping, boating and skiing. Calgary, Alberta Canada is a short distance away. Amtrak rail services connects Browning with east-west travelers on a daily basis between Seattle, Washington and Chicago, Illinois on the historic Empire Builder route.
