Summary:

Read blueprints and program CNC machine

Duties and responsibilities:

• Operate controls, load parts, and prove programs
• Inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements
• Interpret drawings, manuals, specification, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequences of operations and set up requirements
• Ensure production rates are met or exceeded
• Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly
• Perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment
• Stand at least 8 hours a day
• May perform other duties as assigned by management
• Lead 2 or 3 operators to ensure productivity and quality standards are met

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years' experience preferred in set-up of CNC lathes and CNC vertical milling machines
• Experience with reading and editing G code will be expected
• Knowledge in use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments i.e., calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales
• Strong understanding in blueprint reading/ geometric tolerance interpretation
• Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
• Must be adaptable to changing environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
• Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication
• CNC programming a must
• Master Cam, Haas, Okuma, Mazak experience a plus
• Lift up-to 50 lbs. and be able to work around moving machinery
