CNC Lathe Programmer – Summary

Experienced CNC Lathe Programmer needed for a precision aerospace and general machining environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes to manufacture close-tolerance components from blueprints and engineering drawings. Must be quality-conscious, detail-oriented, and capable of producing first-piece inspections while maintaining high production standards.

Requirements

Minimum 5+ years of CNC lathe programming and setup experience .
Experience in aerospace and/or precision general machine shop manufacturing .
Proficient with G-code programming (conversational programming a plus).
Ability to program, set up, troubleshoot, and operate CNC lathes independently.
Experience machining materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, Inconel, and alloy steels .
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, engineering drawings, and process sheets .
Knowledge of precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, and indicators .
Experience maintaining close tolerances (±.0005 or better) .
Perform first-article inspections and ensure parts meet quality specifications.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to improve machining efficiency.
Familiarity with tooling selection, speeds and feeds, and process optimization.
Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
