Implementation Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL – 4 days per week in office

Compensation: $140,000–$150,000 base + $25,000 variable

About the Role

This is not a traditional Implementation Specialist or project coordination role. We're looking for a highly technical, customer-facing problem solver who can own complex implementations from discovery through launch.

You'll work directly with customers to understand their technology stack and business processes, configure integrations, troubleshoot technical issues, and develop practical solutions.

The role sits at the intersection of Implementation Engineering, Integration Engineering, Solutions Engineering, and Forward Deployed Engineering. You don't need to be a traditional software engineer, but you should be comfortable working with APIs, data, and code and using AI coding tools to solve problems quickly.

What You'll Be Doing

• Own end-to-end customer implementations and resolve issues independently
• Translate customer requirements into technical solutions
• Configure e-commerce and third-party integrations
• Troubleshoot API, integration, and data issues
• Work with APIs, JSON/XML, databases, and code
• Use AI coding tools to solve technical problems
• Lead customer training and technical sessions
• Manage multiple implementations simultaneously

What We're Looking For

• Experience in solutions engineering or e-commerce xhyhwjd technology
• Strong hands-on REST API experience
• Ability to test and troubleshoot API integrations
• Working knowledge of Python and/or PHP
• Ability to read, edit, and debug code
• Experience with JSON/XML and databases
• Experience using AI coding tools
• Ability to work directly with customers and solve highly complex technical problems
• Willing to work in-office 4 days per week

Nice to Have

• Experience within e-commerce or retail technology

• Experience with platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon or eBay
