Visiting Assistant Professor - Management

Job Description The Massry School of Business at the University at Albany, State University of New York, seeks candidates for a non‑tenure‑track Visiting Assistant Professor (VAP) of Management position with a focus in human resources and organizational behavior, beginning in Fall 2026. This is a one‑year appointment, renewable for up to two additional one‑year terms, subject to successful review and university approval. The position will be within the Department of Management, which is responsible for undergraduate‑ and graduate‑level (MBA) education in our AACSB‑accredited management, entrepreneurship, and human resources concentrations. The appointment has a 3/3 teaching load and includes both in‑person and online teaching responsibilities in our undergraduate and MBA programs. Key Responsibilities Providing rigorous instruction in undergraduate and graduate courses, including the development and delivery of online courses. Maintaining scholarly research through professional academic conferences and journal publications. Contributing service primarily to the Department and School. Primary Responsibilities Material preparation, class development, and instruction at undergraduate and graduate levels. Research and professional scholarly activity (e.g., data collection, data analysis, article writing, grant writing, presentations at professional meetings). Service to department, school, and university. Functional and Supervisory Relationships Reports to Management Department Chair; Dean of the School of Business. Minimum Qualifications Doctoral (e.g., PhD) degree in Human Resources, Management, Organizational Behavior, or a related field from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization by 08/31/2026. Record of research requisite for an appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor in the fields of organizational behavior, management, and human resources. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching undergraduate or graduate courses. Demonstrated interest in online teaching and instructional design. Working Environment Typical office environment. Additional Information Professional Rank and Salary Range: Visiting Assistant Professor 10 Month, A5, Salary commensurate with experience.
