Operations Supervisor Location: Nacogdoches Independent School District Food Services, Nacogdoches, Texas Job ID: 5790880 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: June 18, 2026 7:07 PM (UTC) Job Description Job Title: Operations Supervisor Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt Reports to: Director of Child Nutrition Pay Grade: Aux PG5 222 days ($32,160 - $51,598) Department/School: Child Nutrition Department Date Revised: 06/08/2026 Primary Purpose: Supervise, coach, develop, and observe all aspects of daily operations to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal child nutrition policies and regulations. Supervise assigned campuses, assess and provide support with on- and off-site technical assistance and training to maintain compliance. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Five years of successful managerial experience in food and nutrition services, institutional food management services or related field. State of Texas or ANSI accredited Food Service Manager's Certification preferred. Special Knowledge and Skills Ability to supervise, coach, develop, and motivate. Proficient in computer skills with the ability to adapt quickly to department software programs. Ability to adapt to change and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment. Maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgement and discretion. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Maintain emotional control in stressful situations. Work effectively under pressure within deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. Identify and resolve problems. Work independently and in a team environment. Deliver quality results in a timely manner. Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, human relations, planning, organizational and time management skills. Provide educational and training assistance for Student Nutrition Services managers and other campus employees. Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and its use. Major Responsibilities and Duties Have working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies for USDA and Texas Department of Agriculture department programs. Direct food service managers to ensure all state and local health department requirements are met. Support operations team by creating the customer experience appropriate to NISD Student Nutrition Services standards and brand. Complete on‑site audits to verify adherence to federal, state, local, and district standards regarding food production, health code, food safety, service and quality. Instruct and supervise in work schedules, food production records, inventory control, HACCP procedures, organizational management, and all other aspects of daily kitchen performance. Monitor campus inventory control of food and non‑food orders as needed. Evaluate operations such as kitchen flow, product quality, and employee coverage. Utilize data to evaluate participation, quality, effectiveness, staffing, productivity and cost. Develop and implement an action plan to correct deficiencies. Assist with monitoring and evaluation of kitchen equipment needs and coordinate processing of work orders for kitchen equipment. Recommend and implement standard operational procedures as needed. Support the development and implementation of marketing and promotions in all schools. Assume managerial responsibilities as needed. Supervise, coach, develop, evaluate, and document employee performance. Assess campus staffing levels by monitoring meals per labor hour report. Develop and promote employee growth, efficiency, morale and teamwork through professional growth opportunities. Ensure continuous monitoring and ongoing education of employees in district safety practices. Assist in developing and implementing employee training programs. Oversee training of managers and staff in kitchen procedures. Establish positive working relationships with district administrative leadership, principals, school staff and all other NISD departments. Monitor campus productivity by evaluating monthly profit and loss reports. Work closely with all SNS staff in marketing, promotion and training responsibilities. Assist with equipment, training, employee management, financial support, technical support, catering events, HR functions and other duties as assigned. Support Student Nutrition Services Department with regular attendance. Meet required annual Professional Standards for School Nutrition Professionals. Attend workshops, training, and seminars to stay abreast of current research and information. Participate in cross‑training. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Equipment Used: Institutional food service equipment, POS machines, equipment, telephone, thermometer, computer, printer, automobile, copier, adding machine, calculator. Working Conditions: Mental conditions/physical demands/environmental factors: maintain emotional control under stress; frequent standing, walking, sitting, pushing, and pulling; moderate lifting and carrying; some stooping, reaching, grasping, bending, and kneeling; limited exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
