 This is an on-site, contract-based opportunity designed for an associate-level physician who is ready to deliver exceptional patient care in a dynamic clinical environment.

As a Locum Gastroenterology physician, you will play a key role in diagnosing and treating a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions while working alongside a collaborative team of healthcare professionals. This contract assignment offers a rewarding opportunity to apply your expertise in a fast-paced medical setting, providing continuity of care and positively impacting patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with gastrointestinal disorders
• Perform endoscopic procedures, including but not limited to colonoscopy and upper endoscopy, in accordance with best practices
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans based on clinical findings and evidence-based medicine
• Interpret diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studies to guide treatment decisions
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care
• Educate patients and their families about conditions, treatment options, and preventative care measures
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives
• Provide urgent and emergent consultations as required within the scope of the practice
• Adhere to all clinical protocols, safety guidelines, and ethical standards in patient care
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and clear communication

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
• Board certification or board eligibility in Gastroenterology is preferred
• Valid and active medical license, or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state where the position is located
• Associate-level clinical experience in gastroenterology, including hands-on experience with endoscopic procedures
• Strong working knowledge of gastrointestinal diseases, diagnostic techniques, and treatment protocols
• Excellent clinical judgment, diagnostic reasoning, and decision-making skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
• Ability to work independently while also functioning seamlessly as part of a multidisciplinary care team
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical practice
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and clinical documentation
• Flexibility to manage varying patient volumes and adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment

Schedule: 7a-3:30p, Tuesdays & Thursdays

No call or weekends required

10-12 cases per day

Duties: Evaluations, follow‑ups, consults, and procedures

Full range of colonoscopy and EGD procedures, including biopsies, polypectomies, snare removals, ablations, variceal banding, and control of bleeding

Any active, unrestricted U.S. medical license accepted

EMR: CPRS

Must be board-certified

DEA, BLS/ACLS required
