School Bus Driver

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Meet Michigan Commercial Driver License (CDL) requirements with B/P/S endorsement and any other endorsements that may be required by law preferred. Training may be available for the right candidate.
2. Enrolled in a state approved Beginning School Bus Driver Safety class, or have successfully completed either a State approved Beginning School Bus Driver Safety class or a State approved Six Hour Advanced School Bus Driver class within the preceding two years.
3. Successful completion of a Road Skills Test approved by the Michigan Department of Education.
4. Good physical and mental health, including the possession of a current State of Michigan School Bus Driver Medical Examiner Certificate.
5. High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
6. Physically capable to handle all school vehicles.
7. Regular and reliable in person attendance is an essential function of the job.
8. Knowledge of the mechanics of driving a bus.
9. Knowledge of State of Michigan law and requirements.
10. Able to interact well with others.
11. Adaptable to changing work requirements.
12. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as Administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
